The International
Academy of the Digital Arts and Sciences announced that web readers
had awarded the 1999 Webby Awards People's Voice Award for "Best
Science Site" to Science@NASA.

You Want Mail, You've Got Mail from the Energy Information Administration
Does your company

The Energy Information Administration has announced a notification
service called This Week At EIA. Distributed as an e-mail message
every Friday afternoon, This Week At EIA is a list of Internet addresses
and summaries of what EIA released during the week. EIA's website
also has 42 separate e-mail lists divided into six categories such
as gas and crude oil. Up-to-date information is at your fingertips.

task, and that's why the Environmental Protection Agency's online
database is getting a positive review by corporate compliance officers,
government permit writers, and others affected by the Resource Conservation
and Recovery Act.

Be Gone--How to Report and Recover When a Virus Attacks
You
need to move fast when a virus like Melissa hits. The Federal Computer
Incident Response Capability (FedCIRC) program issues advisories
about marauders, let's you report a break in, and gives you solutions
for overcoming the evil bug. This program is funded by the Government
Information Technology Services Board's Innovation Fund. It was
a 1998 winner of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC)/GITSB Award
for Promoting Electronic Government. The Melissa advisory is a joint
effort with Carnegie-Mellon University.
