Online Newsletter Features Reinvention Worldwide

The February 1999 issue of an online newsletter published by the General Services Administration's Office of Intergovernmental Solutions features reinvention around the world.

The newsletter includes more than 40 articles covering reinvention initiatives in countries from around the world, federal agencies, and local and state governments. Industry perspectives on government reinvention initiatives, including information technology, are also provided.

Newsletter Supports Access America

The Vice President’s 1997 report, "Access America," lays out his vision of a government that delivers services electronically and uses information technology to improve productivity. The Office of Intergovernmental Solutions, headed by Frank McDonough, publishes the newsletter in response to one of the Access America initiatives—sharing information technology experiences worldwide. The Office publishes this newsletter two or three times a year. Each issue features themes that affect all levels of government. It is distributed to senior level government and industry officials worldwide

Martha Dorris, OIS Program Director, stated that "Today, it is possible to see that reinvention is maturing as a management objective; and, it is becoming a broader, more inclusive subject."

Hard Copy Is Available

You can request a hard copy by contacting Renee Hughes at (202) 501-0291. You will also receive a brochure titled "Transforming Organizations by Changing Process and Culture." OIS initially distributed the brochure at Vice President Gore's global conference on reinvention, January 14-15,1999 in Washington, DC.
