The National Education Goals Report and the Data Volume for the National Education Goals Report detail progress toward the National Education Goals at both the national and state levels.

At the national level, progress is measured by 26 core indicators. These measures are shown on the U.S. Scorecard.

At the state level, individual state progress is reported on a slightly larger set of indicators than at the national level. Four-page summaries for each state can be downloaded from the State Scorecards page.

The panel has also released 1999 Fact Sheets which include all information related to a particular state. These sheets use data from the 1999 Goals Report.

• U. S. Scorecard
  Displays the 26 national indicators organized by goal and shows progress between the baselines (set as close to 1990 as possible, the year the Goals were adopted) and the year that the most recent information was collected.

• State Scorecards
  Four pages of data are available for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Territories, summarizing progress on the 33 state-level indicators. Baseline data and most recent updates are shown, in addition to ranges of state scores. These scorecards area available for downloading to your workstation.
