AAHSA member and President of Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly, Ellen Feingold of Boston, Massachusetts Co-chairs the Commission along with AAHSA Field Director, Nancy Hooks of Albany, New York. They followed up their successful first meeting with several meetings on Capitol Hill and with the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Mel Martinez.
The commission has spent the past several weeks organizing task forces and developing its schedule of field hearings. The first field hearing will be July 30 in Syracuse, New York followed by a September 24th hearing in Columbus, Ohio, and a November 7th hearing in San Diego to coincide with the AAHSA Conference.
The commission's staff office is located at 470 L'Enfant Plaza, Suite 7110, Washington D.C. 20024 and the Executive Director is Gerard Holder. The commission is working quickly to develop a website to be debuted this summer.
