Co-Chair Nancy Hooks and Staff Meet with House Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee Chair Marge Roukema (R-NJ)
Washington, D.C. Commission on Affordable Housing and Health Facility Needs for Seniors in the 21st Century Co-Chair, Nancy Hooks met today with Congresswoman Marge Roukema (R-NJ). Congresswoman Roukema chairs the subcommittee that created the Commission and was enthusiastic about the commission's coming report.
Mrs. Hooks was pleased to have the meeting with Roukema and expressed the commission's desire to provide a report that will be useful to the Congress in addressing the needs of the next generation seniors. The Commission hopes to come up with solid policy recommendations that can be readily turned into bipartisan legislation.
The commission is holding its first field hearing on housing and health strategies on Monday, July 30, 2001 in Syracuse, New York. The next hearing, on financing strategies, is scheduled for September 24, 2001 in Columbus, Ohio.
