Indian
Nation Finds Technology
Is Prescription for Success
Using private
sector technology, the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa
introduced a sophisticated computerized billing system for its pharmacy
-- the first of its kind for Indian Country. Thirty-four other tribal
health-care providers have adopted it. For this technological coup
that some claimed was undoable, the Band is a finalist for a prestigious
award.
Fall
Colors
In fall,
we often say the trees are ablaze with color. Thankfully, only a
few trees are still ablaze because of wild
fires. The Forest Service tells us that its collection of fall
color links has not been updated so far this year due to the wildfire
fire emergency. Nevertheless, this one-stop site contains enough
generic information to help you enjoy the fall foliage in many parts
of the country.
The
Birds of Big Bend
Big Bend
National Park is a birdwatcher's paradise. It's home to about 450
species of birds, more than any other national park in the United
States. Click on this site -- and be treated to bird songs as well.
