U.S.
Trade and Development Agency
Launches New Web Site
May 19, 1999
The U.S. Trade
and Development Agency (TDA) has launched the agency's new
website, which allows American exporters to more effectively
plug in to the latest international commercial opportunities.
"One of
TDA's main missions is to promote the use of technology to make
business around the world more effective. This website is TDA's
way of putting our time and innovation where our mouth is,"
said TDA's Director J. Joseph Grandmaison.
The new features
on TDA's website will arm U.S. exporters with exactly the type of
information they need to remain competitive in this tough global
market and provide the early assistance that allows American companies
to get involved in major international infrastructure and industrial
projects.
These features
include:
* A free e-mail
subscription to the TDA Pipeline, a bi-weekly publication featuring
the latest projects up for competition among U.S. companies as well
as contact information for studies underway and those recently completed;
* A frequently
updated on-line newsletter;
* A searchable
library that includes information on how to order completed feasibility
study reports, billion-dollar reports for suppliers of equipment
for international infrastructure projects;
* On-line brochures
for the latest TDA deal-making conferences;
* Up-to-the-minute
press releases;
* Job Announcements.
The U.S. Trade
and Development Agency assists in the creation of jobs for Americans
by helping U.S. companies pursue overseas business opportunities.
Through the funding of feasibility studies, orientation visits,
training grants, conference and various other forms of technical
assistance, TDA enables American businesses to become involved in
the planning stages of infrastructure and industrial projects in
middle-income and developing countries.
