In 1997, the Goals Panel released a set of documents related to Goal 1 - by the year 2000, all children in America will start school ready to learn.
Getting a Good Start in School is a parent summary of the 5 dimensions of early learning and development. These dimensions are more fully defined in a 1995 report, Reconsidering Children's early Learning and Development: Toward Common Views and Vocabulary.
In support of the I Am Your Child Campaign, a campaign to improve conditions for young children birth to three years of age, the Panel released, Special Early Childhood Report. The Panel also released Ready Schools, a report which indicates what schools can do to serve all the children that begin elementary school and Principles and Recommendations for Early Childhood Assessments.
