Unveils Home Page

The President's Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Health Care Industry, today, announced the creation of its worldwide web home page, providing consumers greater access to the Commission's ongoing work.

Created by President Clinton to "advise the President on changes occurring in the health care system and recommend such measures as may be necessary to promote and assure health care quality and value, and protect consumers and workers in the health care system," the Commission is Co-Chaired by Alexis M. Herman, Secretary of Labor, and Donna E. Shalala, Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The Commission's home page can be found at http://hcqualitycommission.gov or http://www.hcqualitycommission.gov.

By accessing the web address, the public will be able to view:

• Information about the Commission and Mission;
• List of Commission Members and Biographies;
• Executive Order and Charter of the Commission;
• Testimony from Public Witnesses;
• Schedule of Future Commission Meetings;
• Press Releases and Announcements;
• Complete Transcripts from the Commission's General and Subcommittee Meetings;
• President Clinton's remarks announcing the formation of the Commission.

In addition to these features, the website includes a Comments section, where an individual or organization can address their comments to the Commission staff directly.
