Reverend Monsignor Henry J. Gugino MSW, LHD

Monsignor Henry J. Gugino of Buffalo, New York is diocesan director of Catholic Charities of Buffalo. Installed as director in 1995, Monsignor Gugino served as associate director for nearly 20 years. He oversees the agency's social services delivery system and annual fund raising appeal throughout the eight counties of Western New York. He is a past national chairman of the Catholic Charities Directors Association; and currently serves as chair of the New York State Catholic Charities Directors' Council, and diocesan representative to the New York State Catholic Hospital Council. Since 1984, Monsignor Gugino also serves as the bishop's coordinator for Catholic health care in the Diocese of Buffalo. Monsignor Gugino is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Catholic Health System. He is also the president of Quality Behavioral Health, and has taken a leadership role in local organizations such as the Health Association of Niagara County and the Health Systems Agency of Western New York. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County; and the Membership Board of Baker Victory Services and the Diocesan Counseling Center. As President of Delta Development Company, he is responsible for several not-for-profit housing developments throughout Western New York. Monsignor Gugino also worked as a parish priest for seven years prior to joining Catholic Charities.
