Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass
Destruction
November 18, 2004
Today, the Commission completed two days of meetings at
its Arlington, Virginia offices.
On Wednesday afternoon, members of the Commission were invited
to meet with the President and members of the national security
team at the White House to give a brief description of the
progress of the Commission’s work.
The remainder of the sessions on both days was devoted to
receiving presentations and briefings from several of the
Commission’s working groups. This was the seventh
time the full commission has met since its formation in
February 2004. The Commission is expected to issue its final
report to the President by March 31, 2005.
As in the past, the classified information discussed during these sessions required that they be closed to the public. The Commission nonetheless will continue to keep the public informed of its work through periodic statements and through its website, available at www.wmd.gov .
