We are pleased to welcome Walter B. Slocombe as a member of the Commission. Walt brings a wealth of relevant defense and national security expertise to the Commission, and will be an invaluable asset as we press forward with our inquiry.

The President appointed Walt to fill the position vacated by Lloyd Cutler, who is resigning as a member of the Commission for personal reasons. While Lloyd will no longer be a Commission member, he will serve as Of Counsel to the Commission. We are grateful to Lloyd for his service as a member of the Commission, and are pleased that the Commission will continue to benefit from his wisdom and experience.
