STAFFORD-COVEY TASK GROUP ISSUES THIRD INTERIM REPORT
The Stafford-Covey Return to Flight Task Group will issue its third interim report Friday, Jan. 28. The document will be available at 8 a.m. EST on the Internet at:

Co-Chairman Richard Covey will be available to answer news media questions during a teleconference Friday at noon EST. Media interested in participating in the teleconference must contact Shannon Bach at: 281/792-7523 by 11 a.m. EST Jan. 28.

The Task Group is co-chaired by retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. and Apollo commander, Thomas Stafford, and Covey, a former Space Shuttle commander. The group is making an independent assessment of NASA's implementation of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board Space Shuttle Return to Flight recommendations. The Group will report results to NASA at appropriate intervals and provide a final report approximately one month before the Space Shuttle returns to flight.
