The New President's Management Council
The President followed through on one of NPR's major recommendations by setting up the President's Management Council to lead the quality revolution and to ensure implementation of NPR reform.
The Council comprises newly designated chief operating officers of the cabinet departments and several major agencies.
So far it has helped get the Administration's "buyout" bill passed, cleared the way for agency customer service standards, and worked productively on reforming federal field structure and the civil service.
