    NEW FREEDOM COMMISSION ON MENTAL HEALTH CONVENES 2ND MEETING

    President Bush's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health will hold its second meeting to formalize its work plan and hear from stakeholders and experts in the mental health community. The Commission will hear testimony from representatives of national mental health organizations and a presentation by mental health consumer leaders. The Commission also will hear three expert presentations on improving America's mental health care and systems, evidence-based practices, and children's mental health issues.

    The Commission is charged with conducting a comprehensive study of the United States mental health service delivery system and advising the President on methods of improving the system. The Commission is chaired by Michael F. Hogan, Ph.D., Director, Ohio Department of Mental Health.
