Commission Receives Plans Addressing Internet Taxation

Arlington, Virginia — November 12, 1999 — The Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce is releasing proposals it has received on the subject of Internet taxation. The proposals are available on the Commission’s Internet Web site at www.ecommercecommission.org.

Received in response to an invitation the Commission issued last month, interested parties submitted proposals related to state and local taxation of Internet transactions and electronic commerce. The deadline for receipt of proposals is Monday, November 15.

The Commission is expected to ask that some proposals be formally presented at its meeting in San Francisco, December 14-15.

Details about the Commission’s San Francisco meeting are also posted on the Web site, along with a registration form. The meeting will take place December 14, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 and December 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Colonial Room of the Westin St. Francis Hotel, 335 Powell Street, in San Francisco.

About the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce
