The
International Academy of the Digital Arts and Sciences announced
that web readers had awarded the 1999 Webby Awards People's Voice
Award for "Best Science Site" to Science@NASA.

You Want Mail, You've Got Mail from the Energy Information Administration
Does
your company need updates and analyses on major energy issues around
the world? The Energy Information Administration has announced a
notification service called This Week At EIA. Distributed as an
e-mail message every Friday afternoon, This Week At EIA is a list
of Internet addresses and summaries of what EIA released during
the week. EIA's website also has 42 separate e-mail lists divided
into six categories such as gas and crude oil. Up-to-date information
is at your fingertips.

the Environmental Protection Agency's online database is getting
a positive review by corporate compliance officers, government permit
writers, and others affected by the Resource Conservation and Recovery
Act.

Be Gone--How to Report and Recover When a Virus Attacks
You
need to move fast when a virus like Melissa hits. The Federal Computer
Incident Response Capability (FedCIRC) program issues advisories
about marauders, let's you report a break in, and gives you solutions
for overcoming the evil bug. This program is funded by the Government
Information Technology Services Board's Innovation Fund. It was
a 1998 winner of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC)/GITSB Award
for Promoting Electronic Government. The Melissa advisory is a joint
effort with Carnegie-Mellon University.
