Harry Thomas

Harry Thomas of Seattle, Washington is Executive Director of the Seattle Housing Authority. Mr. Thomas filled this post from 1987 to 1993, and re-joined the organization in 1995. Previously Mr. Thomas served as the Washington State Governor's staff director and special assistant for housing. Mr. Thomas is the former Deputy County Executive for King County; and Executive Director of Neighborhood House, Inc., a nonprofit social service agency. He also currently serves as Vice-President of the Executive Board for the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities; as board member of the Housing Research Foundation; and board member for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, which he also chaired from 1995-1998. Since his return to the Seattle Housing Authority, Mr. Thomas has led efforts to redevelop Seattle's garden communities through the federal grant program HOPE VI (Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere).
