M'Liss Solove Houston of Springfield, Virginia is president and CEO of MSH Consulting, Inc. Since 1989, MSH Consulting, Inc. is a consulting firm specializing in providing strategic counsel on a broad base of federal legislative, regulatory, and policy issues to a wide range of clients, including small businesses, corporations, trade associations and business coalitions. MSH seeks to attain client-specific policy goals in health care and other business arenas by serving as the client's liaison with the United States Congress and the Executive Branch. MSH develops internal and external government relations structures for corporate clients, and conducts government relations seminars for corporate clients and national trade associations. An attorney, Ms. Houston previously served as Associate Commissioner with the Social Security Administration, in the Office of Legislation and Congressional Affairs for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; as a Legislative Assistant in the Washington, DC office of Senator Phil Gramm, United States Senate; as Legal Counsel and Legislative Director with the House Civil and Commercial Law Committee, Ohio House of Representatives; and as Chief Assistant to the Vice President, Program and Policy Development with the Metropolitan Human Services Commission in Columbus, Ohio.
