Booking a prisoner, taking his mug shot, and inking him or her up for a set of prints used to keep a DEA agent tied up for over an hour. Now, with the new automated system, the agent can finish the process in 15 minutes and get back out looking for bad guys.Even better, DEA can instantly transmit the automated information to other law enforcement officers around the country so they can quickly check for outstanding warrants. The DEA has teamed up with the FBI, U.S. Marshals, INS, and Bureau of Prisons so they will soon be using the same system.
