Mapping Out Crime
Crime rates, particularly for violent crime, have dropped dramatically in cities and towns across the United States. But more can be done. As many communities are learning, "mapping" with powerful computers provides instant access to equally powerful data that law enforcement officials use to fight crime. A report released by the Vice President and Attorney General tells how the federal government can help communities and police departments use information-age tools to reduce and prevent crime.
