Dr. Tieraona Low Dog
Dr. Tieraona Low Dog, of Corrales, New Mexico, currently serves as the Medical Director for the Tree House Center of Integrative Medicine in Albuquerque. With more than twenty years in the field of botanical medicine, she was recently elected to serve as Chairperson for the Dietary Supplements and Botanicals Expert Panel for the United States Pharmacopoeia. Dr. Low Dog received her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She is part of the core faculty for Columbia University's Botanical Medicine Course for Physicians. Dr. Low Dog is currently working with Beth Israel on the development of a continuing medical education program on herbal medicine for physicians. She frequently lectures on the subject of herbal medicine. In 1998, she received the International Martina de la Cruz award for her work with indigenous remedies.
