Subject: Social Security Taxes- Form 1040 Comment: Please raise the $32,000 exemption for a couple on the 1040 form. This amount has never been indexed for inflation. Since, SS taxes are taxed at the rate of 85% (since 1993) from the previous 50% tax rate on income over $32,000; senior citizens and the disabled are going to the poor house if their spouses hold employment. Please help us!!!!! |
