Subject: Economics of Tax Reform Comment: Dear Panel, I have worked very hard to change careers from the blue collar trades to the computer field. Naturally my tax structure changed. I now see the extent to which the Federal government has gotten out of hand. It's just not fair. I now pay more in taxes in one week of work than I used to make as salary in 2 weeks! Yet I receive LESS in benefit from the federal government than I did before. How is this fair? If the current system was fair at all the benefit received to individuals from government would be proportional to the amount paid in taxes. It is also unfair that I pay so much into the Social Security system of which I never expect to see in retirement. The cost of compliance to the federal tax systems must also change. Eliminatiing the IRS and the current tax code is the only way to address all of these issues. The ONLY plan that has been studied and studied and studied for 20 years and solves all of the tax issues is the Fair Tax bill, H.R. 25. Therefore I support the implementation of H.R. 25. There is also a new book that explains the plan in everyday language and detail called "The Fair Tax Book" by Neil Boortz. This movement of fair taxation by consumption tax is not going to go away. People like myself are getting involved all around the country. There is even a rally to take place soon on the Washington Mall. Our voices will be heard and the people will vote on it. I respectfully suggest you read the book and become informed about the consuption tax model. It is the only viable solution for our current tax debacle. Sincerely, David Clifton (Fair Tax supporter) |
