Subject: Complexity

Comment: Dear Member, as you continue to evaluate how worthy some deductions are please remember how the federal government taxes and taxes and taxes us to the detriment of the very programs intented to assist. The prime example is Social Security. You collect money from us and our employer on an after tax basis for years. Then, when you give us back this "forced" savings in our retirement you tax it again!! In addition, Congress gives tax breaks to contributors then fills the rest of the needed funds with citizen's money. You also have taken over state's functions in many areas and need more tax money for that. Now you think mortagage deductions are too generous. Wow! Be careful what you wish for because you may destroy the very tax base you depend on. R.A.Cardona, Loveland, OH 45140
