Subject: Fair Tax Act of 2005 Comment: The Fair Tax is the best of the many proposals out there for several reasons: 1. It is progressive. The poor pay no taxes and get a raise! 2. It is the same for all, so the richer you are and the more you spend, the more you pay. 3. Our elected representitives in Washington DC will no longer be tempted to sucomb to the lobbiests and other special interests groups for special treatment in the tax code, because there will be no tax code. (another way to put this is that it will significantly reduce the corruption in Washington DC) 4. It will significantly increase economit activity in the country, ie, gobs of more jobs. 5. It will give everyone a raise in spendable income. 6. It will make the USA much more competative in the world economy. 7. Many of the jobs and off-shore make accounts will come back to the USA. 8. All the crooks will also pay their fair share. 9. Visitors from outside the USA will also pay. 10. Illegal alians in this country will finally also pay their fair share of taxes, but they may not get the "prebate" because they may not want to register with the government. I guess that's fair, since they are here illegally. 11. It will help to preserve our freedome from government interference in our lives. |
