Welcome to REGO,
Vice President Gore's e-zine about reinventing government. This is our
last update to the e-zine as the Clinton Gore Administration ends. The
site will stay up as archival information but will no longer be updated.
That said, we believe that while REGO the ezine will end, reinventing
government will not.
After eight years
we have an impressive roster of achievements that have changed forever
the way the government works. These stories which we present as examples
of reinvention's impact, are only a small sample of the multitude of changes
and improvements that reinvention brought to the government. Little wonder
that a Brookings Institution report labeled reinvention, "one of
the most remarkable reform efforts in American history."
Reinvention has gone
a long way to create the flexible, streamlined, and modern government
we all want, and it is hard to imagine a new administration choosing to
reverse or entirely discontinue these efforts. We are confident that,
although the National Partnership for Reinventing Government (NPR) will
be gone, the government will continue its efforts to work better, cost
less, and get results Americans care about.
To all those who have
been part of, or have supported our efforts we give our heartfelt thanks.
Keep on reinventing!
