PRESIDENT WILL RELEASE SECOND REINVENTING GOVERNMENT STATUS REPORT ON SEPTEMBER 7

On Thursday, September 7, President Clinton and Vice President Gore will issue a status report from the White House Rose Garden to mark the second anniversary of their successful efforts to reinvent and modernize the federal government. The latest reinventing government report will show that energized federal workers have produced real results. They have:

-improved customer service;
-eliminated regulatory burdens on the public;
-developed grassroots partnerships ;
-introduced time-saving, cost-effective
technologies;
-cut red tape and bureaucratic hierarchies; and
-developed innovative, entrepreneurial ways of
working.

In addition, billions of dollars have been saved and the federal workforce reduced. The
report will be on Internet as soon as the President releases it on September 7. Send e-
