Vice President Al Gore will lead the "21st Century Skills for 21st Century Jobs Summit" on January 12 at George Washington University. Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman and Secretary of Commerce William Daley will also participate. The Summit begins at 8 a.m. ET. The Vice President will moderate from 1:30 - 3 p.m.

More than 400 satellite downlink sites over the country are registered. These sites include 257 public sites, according to Lynn Kahn at the National Partnership for Reinventing Government. Another 259 federal facilities will receive digital downlink turnaround by the Federal Aviation Administration Technical Center in Oklahoma.

Also, a cybercast alert will go out to 1.3 million subscribers of ivillage.com with polling question "Do you feel prepared to take your career into the 21st Century?"

The Summit is a chance for leaders from business, education, labor, government, and communities across the nation to discuss how American workers can get the skills they need to succeed and how employers can get the skilled workers they need to stay competitive.
