The forum will be held from 9:00 until noon with the Food and Drug Administration hosting at the HHS Building, 200 Independence Avenue, S.W., Room 727E, Washington, D.C., Federal Center SW metro, blue and orange lines. The meeting will focus on “Transition” - comings and goings - with agency briefings and reports. Also, we will have an overview on what we have known as the “President's Management Council.” All are welcome!

Feb. 9 and 16: Paper and Electronic Application Deadlines for Acquisition Excellence Awards
WANTED: Creative acquisition teams that are producing results.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2001 Business Solutions in the Public Interest awards for acquisition excellence. Deadline for electronic application: February 16, 2001, paper application: February 9, 2001.

If you are not directly engaged in acquisition, please spread the word about this important award program to your colleagues who are!

The Council for Excellence in Government, Government Executive magazine and the Office of Federal Procurement Policy are once again partnering to recognize the success of leaders in the acquisition field. The awards will identify leading examples of the greatest impact and trend-setting accomplishments in the practice of the new business performance culture. The awards also will recognize the importance of partnership between agency staff and leadership in thinking through, planning and managing acquisitions. March 29: Free Federal Help Desk Forum 2001 (Cocoa Beach, FL)
This exciting free event for federal employees and managers of help desks and call centers will be held at the Debus Conference Center at the NASA Kennedy Space Center near Cocoa Beach, Florida (about 45 minutes east of Orlando) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Thursday, March 29, 2001. It will be hosted by NASA, facilitated by the NEXRAD Hotline, and features Roy D. Bridges, Jr., NASA KSC Director and former astronaut as the keynote speaker. The program will also feature world class speakers on customer support, case studies of highly effective federal help desks and call centers, and structured sessions to network federal help desks and call centers with similar missions and challenges.
