Robert N. Postlethwait, M.B.A.
Biography
Mr. Robert N. Postlethwait is retired from a more than 28-year career with Eli Lilly and Co., a leading pharmaceutical corporation. From 1994 until his retirement in May 1999, Mr. Postlethwait led the neuroscience unit at Lilly. The last position he held there was President of the Neuroscience Product Group. He joined Lilly in 1970 as a staff engineer and subsequently held numerous positions with the company in the United States, Latin America and Europe. His responsibilities included a number of management assignments in Brazil for Lilly International Corporation, marketing advisor for Latin America for Elanco and director of agricultural marketing for Lilly International in Florence, Italy. In 1983 he became general manager of the Lilly affiliate in Argentina, and he was named president and general manager of the Brazilian Affiliate in 1985. He became executive director of engineering in 1988 and was named area vice president for Europe in 1992.
Among Mr. Postlethwait`s community activities, he has served for four years on the board of directors of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; and for three years on the board of directors of the Indiana Red Cross. He is a member of NAMI-Indiana. Mr. Postlethwait completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University in 1988 and earned an M.B.A. at Butler University in 1974. He received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in 1970. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Zionsville, Indiana.
