Fred C. Armendariz Associate Deputy Administrator
U.S. Small Business Administration
Fred Armendariz is the Associate Deputy Administrator for Government Contracting and Business Development for the United States Small Business Administration. In this position he serves as the principle advisor to the Administrator on all government contracting and business development issues. He establishes and implements all policies and procedures for the operation, improvement, and oversight of the Offices of Government Contracting, Business Development, HUBZone Empowerment Contracting, and Policy, Planning, and Liaison, including the Offices of Technology, Size Standards, and Policy and Research.
Mr. Armendariz is a long time business owner. In 1990, he founded a regional office equipment distributor that specializes in high-speed laser and digital imaging machines. In 1997, his company was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing 500 companies in America. Mr. Armendariz has been recognized as an outstanding businessman and in 1997 was named Businessman of the Year by C.W.L.A. In 1994, he was a national finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
In 1998, Mr. Armendariz founded a nationwide sales and marketing group that assists the auto, financial and law enforcement industries with the disposal of returned, seized and repossessed assets.
Mr. Armendariz graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He is affiliated with the Orange County, California, Sheriff's Department as a reserve deputy sheriff and serves as their Corporate Council Chairman. He serves on the Board of Governors of Saddleback College, and he is on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Lincoln Club.
