distributions made to
QADISIYAH province for area projects
Diwaniyah, Qadisiyah Province. The Coalition Provisional Authority
South-Central today provided funding for contracts worth more than $1.50 million
(2.85 billion Iraqi Dinars *) in community projects. The projects will employ
local people from Qadisiyah Province.
The projects will
repair the Teaching Hospital, Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Pensioner’s
Bank, Ad Diwaniyah Main Fire Station, Afek Civil Defense Building, Al Dagharah
Civil Defense Building, Ad Diwaniyah Police Department Building, and the Water
Department. It will also provide a security wall at Red Cresent, roof at the
Technical Institute Classroom Building, and a milk collection point. CPA will
assist with fuel and electrical issues by providing money for a fuel depot truck
staging area, repairs to the fuel depot and railway download, electric company
substations, electric warehouse, as well as a mobile radio system and tools for
the electric company.
Assisting the
people in Diwaniyah Province is an important goal for the Coalition Provisional
Authority. Today’s money brings the total given during the last few months to
$2.66 million (5.06 billion Iraqi Dinars *) for community projects in Diwaniyah
Province.
It is part of a larger initiative
to help Iraqis as they move forward toward democracy. CPA South-Central will
announce other projects in the coming weeks.
