POLISH PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR IRAQIS

Hilla, Babil Province, Iraq. The Humanitarian Assistance Coordination Center (HACC), operated by the Polish Army, continues to provide tremendous help to Iraqis in South Central Iraq. One of their priorities is to improve access to drinking water in villages and remote areas.

The HACC received water containers and 50,000 liter capacity pumps from the Kuwait Ministry of Energy. Polish and other Coalition partners will distribute the water containers and pumps to schools and hospitals in Babil Province (site of the Babylon Ruins) and Wasit Province (along the Iranian border). Polish soldiers will provide 15,000 plastic cans (20 liter capacity) to these areas as well.

The HACC operates in coordination with the Polish Army and the Coalition Provisional Authority to identify needs in the region and to provide solutions for the Iraqi people. The above examples wonderfully illustrate the many ways in which the Coalition works to assist the Iraqi people as they move toward a sovereign, democratic government.
