Michael P. Fleischer named Director, Private Sector Development
Friday, March 13 – Today Ambassador L. Paul Bremer named Michael P. Fleischer
Director of Private Sector Development for the Coalition Provisional Authority
(CPA). As Director, Mr. Fleischer will lead a team focused on developing Iraq’s
private sector economy and attracting private foreign investment.
Before his tenure at CPA, Mr. Fleischer took a leave of absence from Bogen
Communications International, Inc., where he has been President and a member of
the Board of Directors since 1997. Before becoming President of Bogen
Communications International, Mr. Fleischer was President of Ekco/Glaco, Ltd.,
served as a member of the Board of Directors of Alliant Techsystems, Inc. and
President of Active Management Group, Inc., a firm he co-founded in 1990, which
turns around troubled companies, and provides leadership for firms facing other
difficult transitions. Mr. Fleischer received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business
School in 1985 and a B.A. from Colgate University in 1978.
Mr. Fleischer’s success as an entrepreneur, manager, and business leader in the
international business community will be of enormous value to the CPA and to
Iraq.
Mr. Fleischer has been serving as Deputy Director of Private Sector Development
since November 14, 2003.
