Program Review Board (PRB) Minutes Summary – March 10, 2004 Attendees: Not Available. A quorum was present. The Program Review Board approved the following reprogramming action: #517 – Iraqi Police, Fire, Ambulance and Civil Defense Services Communications-- $12,000,000. The Ministry of Interior (MoI) was represented. PRB Allocation Req #32 dated 12 Oct 2003 granted the Ministry of Interior $12,000.000.00 for the purchase of Iraqi Police Hand-held Radios. An initial contract to the value of $5,957,380.00 has been awarded to American Radio (ARI) to provide a trunked UHF radio system throughout Iraq. An initial 10,000 UHF radios complete with all ancillary items including batteries and chargers is also included. The radios are capable of operation using 16 channels, however in the largest cities only 8 will be in use, with the remaining 8 channels spare. These spare channels can be utilized by the other emergency services at no additional cost (excepting the cost of the radio at $329) Approval is requested to spend the remaining funds totaling $6,042,620 to satisfy Police Requirements of 1 radio per 3 police officers and also include radios to meet the needs of the Fire, Ambulance and Civil Defense services. APPROVED. The Chair announced that a detailed review of the Amended 2004 Iraqi National Budget had identified additional resources for projects benefiting the relief and reconstruction of Iraq.
