MILWAUKEE PROVIDES FEEDBACK TO INTERIM HEALTH CARE RECOMMENDATIONS

Final recommendations to be considered by Congress, White House

Washington, D.C. – The Citizens’ Health Care Working Group will hold a community meeting on its interim recommendations on ways to improve the nation’s health care system in Milwaukee on August 12th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Italian Conference Center, 631 E. Chicago Street. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Registration is available online at www.citizenshealthcare.gov. On site registration is also available. Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital is the local host for this community meeting.

Milwaukee participants will be responding to the Working Group’s interim recommendations that have been developed as a result of input from citizens who have participated in more than seventy five community meetings nationwide or provided their views online. The public has until August 31st to submit comments. Comments may be submitted online at www.citizenshealthcare.gov or by mail addressed to the Citizens’ Health Care Working Group, Attn: Interim Recommendations, 7201 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 575, Bethesda, MD 20814. The comments received will help the Working Group frame a set of final recommendations that will be submitted to the President and Congress in September.

The community meeting will feature remarks from Dr. Aaron Shirley, from Jackson, MS, a Working Group member, followed by a moderated discussion of the Working Group’s six interim recommendations.
