CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Health care is always a hot topic, and it seems
everyone has an opinion on what should be done to fix the current system.
An upcoming forum will give local residents an opportunity to voice
their opinions on a national stage.
“It’s open to all Americans who want to come and talk about their concerns, their recommendations,” said Anne Udall of the Lee Institute. “This is actually a meeting that Congress asked for, and they’re being held all over the United States in the next couple of months.”
Organizers are looking for a diverse cross-section of participants.
“We’re looking for uninsured, insured, people who have had great experiences with health care, people who have had lousy experiences, so it’s a full range,” Udall said.
Udall says all the information gathered at the meeting will be included in a report that will be given to Congress. Copies will also be available online for the public to read and react to.
“Hopefully it will distill out into some strong opinions, patterns and recommendations,” she said.
The meeting will be held Feb. 18 at the Harris Conference Center on
Central Piedmont Community College’s West Campus. Hours are 8:30
a.m.-12:30 p.m. To register, visit www.citizenshealthcare.gov
