The foam projectile is marked around the edges and centerlines with a marker to provide measuring reference points in analysis of high speed photography. The marker also creates the skid marks seen in this, and other, photos after the test. This photo shows two sets of marks, one higher than the other (black) from a previous test performed on June 6th and the lower set (dark blue) from today’s test.
