| Charles E. Saunders M.D. F.A.C.E.P., F.A.C.P. Dr. Saunders is Vice President Strategic
Planning and Medical Director for Healtheon Corporation. Healtheon Corporation is a
pioneer provider of Internet-based, business-to-business and consumer-to-business
"electronic commerce" services that link physicians and patients with health
care institutions enabling them to efficiently and conveniently manage their business and
personal healthcare needs. Prior to joining Healtheon, Dr. Saunders was a principal with A.T. Kearney, served as executive director of managed care services at an integrated health care delivery system and directed emergency medical and the 9-1-1 medical call center for the City and County of San Francisco. Dr. Saunders served on the faculty at UCSF and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he conducted research studies using computer simulation and modeling techniques to improve patient care processes and system performance and was the director of emergency services at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Saunders is board-certified in both internal and emergency medicine. He is currently an active practitioner in emergency medicine at a busy trauma center in a managed care environment. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California and his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. |
