Mr. Raul has broad experience in administrative and constitutional law, as well as the law of the Internet. His practice involves litigation and advocacy in connection with federal government regulation, and representing clients on E-Commerce and other Cyberlaw matters. He also provides strategic advice and counseling on various public policy and regulatory issues, including food and drug, environmental, and international trade matters. Mr. Raul coordinates the Firms Internet Law web site at www.sidley.com/cyberlaw. He has published numerous articles in legal periodicals, as well as in The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times. He has also appeared frequently as a legal commentator on various television networks, and testified before Congress. Mr. Raul served as General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (1989-1993), and as General Counsel of the Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President (1988-1989). Before that, he served in the White House as Associate Counsel to the President (1986-1988). During his tenure as Associate Counsel to the President, Mr. Raul represented the White House in connection with the Iran-Contra investigations. After graduating Yale Law School in 1980, Mr. Raul clerked for Judge Malcolm R. Wilkey of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Mr. Raul is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and has served in various leadership positions in the Federalist Society, the American Bar Association and the American Heart Association. |
