Buy Out - K. Johnson, 11/22/00 10:29AM

Our quotas have been cut so severe that the small tobacco farmer can no longer depend on tobacco to help with their loans or taxes. The government could help us by buying us out, and by that I mean paying us enough money to help us out until we can find something else to produce. The so called pay out to farmers so far from the state or tobacco companies has been a joke. A few hundred dollars here and there does no good at all to the small farmer. The publics concept is that we are getting rich from this money. Ha Ha.

I would rather get a buy out that could help for a while until we find alternatives than to go ahead with the quotas that we have been left with. The small tobacco farmers quota has been cut so severely that it is almost a nuisance any more rather than the help it was before.
