Subject: Fair Tax advocate

Comment: Dear Panel members:

I am a 45 year old man who for the past 5 years has not shown up in the "unemployed" count because I have been working. After being laid off in 2000, I have worked: I have worked 2 and 3 jobs to make up the loss of income I had when I was employed as an international sales manager.

I am part of the growing number of "underemployed": Working at menial jobs just to get food on the table, despite a career and qualifications that should be making twice what I currently make working 90 hours a week.

This is not a tear jerker; I support 5 children, a wife and a mother-in-law. This is my job, and I gladly do this.

My review of the Fair Tax proposal, my experience in international travel and sales has led me to a firm conviction that we need a tax oevrhaul, as proposed by the Fair Tax, instead of tinkerings here and there.

You can't fix a blown transmission by changing the spark plugs.

Regards,

Don Delgado
