Subject: AMT - How many people are you going to kill before you change this law? Comment: Once again, I'm still keeping in touch w/AMT proceedings, and received an email from REFORMATAMT.org. The devistation that has been done to so many hard working families who did NOTHING WRONG other than comply with other laws or listen to Tax Advisors (2 for me personally) and the IRS (~20 calls), to not be able to get any answers, or plain old WRONG information. Every time I start reading about these and thinking of how my government robbed me and all these others! (obviously, it's no longer a government "of the people", "by the people" as NOBODY in their right mind would have this law on the books in its current form!!!). It makes me sick every time I think about it, yet I have to go back to it to help try to get YOU and everybody else in Congress to get this fixed (I've even heard of stories of people having heart attacks or even some killing themselves over this!). I may be a lucky one and before I die get my AMT money back, but OUR GOVERNMENT has devistated many of its best idealistic hard working citizens. Not just them, it goes all the way down to stories I've seen where a single mom, janitor, has had everything taken away from her. Enough is enough...If we didn't make the money, don't force us to pay on it. We didn't, we shouldn't have had to pay on it. You've already taken it away from us, do the right thing and GIVE BACK THE MONEY WHICH IS OURS TO BEGIN WITH!!! What is this credit garbage, that these folks won't ever get their money back? Like I said, I think I will in my latter years, but I feel terrible for them!!! If I'd have exercised another 100-150 options I was going to, I would have been in that same boat! Thank God I changed that decision at the last second. BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO DIDN'T? I can't believe our government, IRS, etc. ALL admit this is wrong (EVERY person I spoke with there, after they cleared up the GREY area, which was AFTER Dec. 31, when I could finally start getting answers as they "clarified" the rule/law, could not believe it was there, and that nothing's been done to change it in the time since this occured). FIX THE MESS! George Washington has to be turning over in his grave right now! Our elected officials are there to represent US, the people. If you were to have THE PEOPLE of the US vote on this with the facts, YOU KNOW it would be corrected, revoked, retro-refunded by at least 98% of the people, if not more. It's wrong. It's up to you to do the right thing. |
