Subject: Don't Lose Tax Breaks for Homeowners

Comment: To Whom it May Concern,
As a REALTOR and Bush supporter, I am very disappointed in the proposed action to eliminate the mortgage interest deduction. With this deduction, we are helping many Americans realize the dream of home ownership and giving them another reason to invest in America by purchasing a home. In turn, homeowners have a stake in the community and are more involved in making their communities better places to live. By taking this deduction away, you send the message that home ownership and improving communities in this country isn't valued to the government and this administration- I don't think President Bush would want that. I know that one of the reasons I could financially "stretch" to purchase my first home was because of the tax deduction- it really helps offset the expense and makes me feel proud to be a homeowner and be able to take that deduction. In simplifying the tax laws, please consider the citizens like me who have been able to invest in our country because of the tax deductions that make home ownership financially feasible.

Thank you for your time,
Kelly Hansen
