Subject: Tax Law Changes

Comment: When I wanted to change my tax withholding status (W-4) I had no way to estimate how much would be withheld. Why can't a general reference table with some ballpark examples be made availible?
I also feel that the I.R.S. should be held accountable for tax advice that they give; in that if a filer can get a written answer to the advice given, and can produce the document when the advice turns out to be wrong; no penalty should be imposed. I would favor a flat tax, I would miss the deductions for taxes- home mortgage-even "how many people in your household"; but if those were eliminated and the tax rate scaled back to effect a "zero increase" in actual tax collected; the end result would be: more complience in filing-less costly enforcement of non-filers or cheats.
