Subject: complexity of system

Comment: The tax code should be simplified so that the average person who chooses the longer form can do their return in under 2 hours. The language should be simplified so that a CPA or other trained tax preparer is not needed. A tax preparer whether an individual, professional or an IRS preparer should get the same result. The tax code should be easy to read and understand and not written by a tax attorney or any tax professional who has a vested interest in keeping it complicated so that he/she benefits financially or in any other way. If any part can't be simplified it should be eliminated for it only benefits a select few. The interest paid on home loans should be kept as it benefits people in almost all levels of income and provides a large number of jobs and many industries throughout the nation. I think the deduction for uniforms and the cleaning of uniforms should be eliminated as all other citizens must buy and clean their own apparel. I think all capital gaines taxes should be eliminated as well as luxury taxes. I do not think that SS security taxes should be put in private accounts. I do not agree with the president's assessment of the future problems of SS. A few small changes will fix the problem. The problems with investing in wall street will always remain as it is always adjusting and many people who were depending on the income from stocks and bonds as well as SS lost so much of their earnings from stocks etc. that they had to return to menial jobs to pay their bills. What would these people have done without SS as a base. The UK has proven that depending on the private sector for retirement income has not worked. They wish they had a system like ours. I think to reduce Medicaid benefits to the states that are providing health care for our poorest citizens is a terrible way to reduce the deficit. There is nothing that can take it's place as the states are already struggling to provide their part. To reduce taxes on the most wealthy in our society and cut Medicaid to reduce the deficit is unconscionable. I'm sure there are other tax items I would like to address but I didn't know about this way of giving input. Every taxpayer should have received a mailing so he/she could give their input in a timely way and not a last minute effort. It looks like our government wasn't interested in getting the input from its citizens
