Subject: mortgage interest deductions

Comment: It would be a huge error to reduce or eliminate the mortgage interest deductions for homeowners. It is an incentive for homeowners to have this tax benefit, as I see it. If it becomes law to eliminate taking a tax deduction on mortgage interest I will seriously consider selling my current residence and opt to rent instead. Why bother owning when there is no gain, other than to pay taxes and gain equity? Why bother to use my equity for improvements, etc., if there isn't an advantage or incentive to deduct the interest when filing my tax returns? This will kill the housing market and incentive to own a home! WE ARE ALREADY OVERTAXED!!!!
