Subject: Value added tax system

Comment: I strongly support the value added or sales tax for the federal tax system. First, the IRS could be reduced with a savings of billions. Second, it would encourage savings by citizens as a way of deferring taxes. Third, it would eliminate the tax loop holes which allow many to avoid paying their share of taxes. Forth, to would replace the current system of income tax, which is overly complicated, and has given birth to an entire industry for laymen who struggle with the complex tax laws. Fifth, employers would no longer have the burden of collecting taxes for the government in the form of payrole taxes.
It is time for a change. It is my belief that by more efficient tax collection through a sales tax or value added tax we could eventually reduce the amount of taxes required because everyone would be paying their fair share.
