Subject: So Called Income tax

Comment: I notice that there are a few who advocate a consumption tax of at least 25 to 30 percent. A consumption tax would bring everybody into the tax system. However, 25 to 30 percent is exhobitant and would be self defeating. It would lead to people refusing to purchase no more than what they need. It would also promote a "Black market" And in the final analysis would end up with less taxes paid.

A consumption tax of 5 to 10 percent would bring in more tax money to the government and would not lead to people avoiding any perchases and would lessen the involvement in a "Black Market.

Quite frankly, it would be best to return to the tax provisions that are in the Constitution and as the founders of the nation intended. That is the best and legal method of taxation in this country.

Also, the government needs to stop spending money it does not have and also not on anything that is not authorized by the Constitution. If the Federal Government would have abided by the Consitutional provision for taxation, this country would not be in all the problems that it is not in.

The people in government today can not equal the great intelligence of the founders.
